China Glaze On Safari Collection: Part 2 (Plus A Comparison)
Finally, I have part 2 of China Glaze's "On Safari" collection to share with you. (See part 1 here) I think my delay is trying these was partly because I just wasn't ready for "vampiness" yet. One thing that helped put me in a vampy mood was the recent "nubbin-izing" of my nails. They were getting very long, but I was starting to have major peeling issues, so I decided to quit while I was ahead and just cut them down ( ♪...but I won't fall! I am titanium!♪ Okay, not quite the lyrics, but made me think of that song ;). What does that have to do with this post? I LOVE dark colors on short nails, and this half of the On Safari collection is full of them!
Purr-fect Plum- a plummy creme polish. I was surprised by how much I loved this one. It is so pretty and Fall appropriate:
Call Of The Wild- dark vampy brown creme. Delicious:
Prey Tell- Really similar to "Call Of The Wild", except it's base undertone is more of a wine instead of a brown:
Here are some side by side shots of "Call Of The Wild" next to "Prey Tell":
These are SO close when they are on the nail. I don't think it's necessary to own both of them at all. Pick your fav and just stick with one!
Adventure Red-y- I have a real aversion to red polish for some reason (which is why I post them very rarely). I have to be in a very specific mood to wear red. This one applies so nicely and is the perfect "temperature" of red for my skin tone. I love it!
Man Hunt- gorgeous blue! I don't really have a ton of blue polish and I was surprised by how happy this one made me- so happy, I had to post 3 pictures instead of just 2:
Lastly, here's Jungle Queen- the prettiest dark grey/purple with an killer 'secret' shimmer (also, rumored to be pretty dang close to Chanel "Paradoxal"):
I did just 2 layers for each of these polishes. The formulas on all of them were PERFECT. I am glad that I decided to try this half, even though these colors usually aren't my 'thing'. Which one(s) do you like the best?

Chameleon Nail Polish: Sunset, Corona, and Cyclone
Have you ever tried Chameleon Polish? They are another brand of polish made by CQ Cosmetics (makers of Petites, Color Fever, and CQ Nail Polish). The website describes these as "color changing polish that looks different from every angle" which translates to me as "duochrome".
Here is the first one I tried, "Sunset". I'd say this one is the most dense of the 3 I have, and the least duo-chromatic. Nonetheless, it is gorgeous! It covered very well- almost a one coater (and a polish I think would be perfect to stamp with). It is a medium orange that flashes sligthly darker orange. It was a little brush-strokey, but for some reason that didn't stop me from really diggin' it. I think the super pigmentation of it trumped everything else for me:
(2 layers)
Then we have "Corona". This one is so cool and so difficult to describe. It looks pink with brown flecks- almost like sand. It is one the sheer side. I used 3 layers here:

| How is this even the same polish!? |
And here is "Corona" over black (pointer and middle finger) and over white (ring and pinkie finger):
Lastly, we have "Cyclone". This is a stunning blue-purple iridescent flash polish. Again, this is on the sheer side, but 3e asy layers gives a decent amount of coverage:
And here's "Cyclone" on black (pointer and middle fingers) and white (ring and pinkie fingers):

| Aaah! I love it over black! So hypnotizing! |
All 3 of these had great formulas!
What do you think Chameleon polishes? You can find these in Rite Aid and also on the website:

The Lazy Days Of Summer Challenge:Day 7-Dotting Tool Summer Fun
Hola! Today I am officially half way through The Lazy Days Of Summer challenge! Day 7 is "Dotting tool summer fun". I decided to use a white base and some summery neons for my dots:
Besides my ring finger (where I got a little *tooclose* with my inner dots) I like how these came out! Kinda reminds me of the "Twister" game with neons instead of primary colors! In case you're curious, here's the polishes I used:
white base-WnW "French White"
blue dots-China Glaze "Splish Splash"
green dots- Klean Color "Mystic Grass"
yellow dots- China Glaze "Sun Kissed"
orange dots- Chameleon "Sunset"
warm pink dots- China Glaze "Flirty Tankini"

Revlon Moon Candy Nail Art Duo: "Supernova"
I remember hearing about these Revlon Nail Art "Moon Candy" sets a few months back and I could not WAIT to try them! I am a sucker for any gray & pink color combo, so naturally I needed "Supernova"!
This is a dual ended polish contraption type thing- one end has a creme polish and the other has a flaky (or the "Moon Candy").
I did one (yes, just one!) layer of the creme here; this is a super dark concrete gray:
And then I flipped over to the other side and did one layer of the pink flaky polish on top:
The flaky polish was on the thick side, but not horrible to work with. I did find the whole dual ended applicator a little awkward to use- it is very heavy to paint with! There are several other color combos in the "Moon Candy" lineup, but I'm pretty sure I'll stick to one for now. I have several other flaky/shard type polishes that can give me similar look (think China Glaze "Luxe and Lush") without the awkwardness. I am glad I tried it though, and I applaud Revlon for continually trying new trends out!
Have you given Moon Candy a whirl yet?

Twinsie Tuesday: "Glass Fleck"
Oh hay there! Guess what? It's Tuesday again, and you know what that means, right? It's time for "Twinsie Tuesday"!
Today's theme is "Glass Fleck". You know, that special type of glitter that looks like crushed up pieces of glass? I have many polishes that have large glass flecks in them (I'm lookin' at you, Zoya Surf Collection!), but I wanted to try a polish I haven't used yet so I went with Sinful Colors "Firefly". I'm not sure if this one was limited edition or not, but I picked it up at the supermarket at the beginning of the summer. This polish is bright yellow with tiny, clear glass fleck particles. I used a white base first, before adding 2 layers of "Firefly":
The glass flecks are teeny, but they are there!
I have a love/hate relationship with yellows, but I really fall on the "love" side with this one. It is so sunny and happy!
Curious about what the other Twinsie girls have chosen for their "Glass Fleck" post? Take a peek:

China Glaze Summer Neons: Beach Cruise-r Nail Polish
Here's one more from China Glaze's Summer Neon collection! (You can see the other colors here and here).
"Beach Cruise-r" is a purple/magenta neon with subtle shimmer. This one covered so well- it is very pigmented. I did just 2 layers for these pictures:
Gah. I love all of this collection so much. I think I am only missing 3 of them now? I think I need the set to be complete, don't you?
